METHODOLOGICAL INFORMATION
.................................

1. Description of the methods for collection/generation of data:

-"Biomass characterization" tab: The biomass of R. okamurae was collected from uplift, washed with fresh water and measured percentage of Carbon and Nitrogen. The percentage of Carbon and Nitrogen was measured with Leco TruSpec Micro CHNSO elemental analyzer.
- "Characterization extracts" tab: Half of the collected R.okamurae biomass was washed with distilled water and half was left unwashed. Both parts were dried in a greenhouse and aqueous extracts of the algae (50g/l), with and without activators (100 g/L, chickpea flour, 10 g/L brown sugar and 10 g/L fertile soil) were made from the dehydrated seaweed according to Pagar et al. (2018) and Wani and Pagar (2020). %C, %N, C/N were measured with Leco TruSpec Micro CHNSO elemental analyzer; ammonium, sodium, potassium, calcium, nitrate and phosphate were measured by Ion chromatography and bromide, chloride, magnesium, phosphorous, Nitrite and Sulphate were measured by ICP-OES (ICP-OES Optima 7300DV, Perkin Elmer).
- "Heavy metal characterization" tab. Extracts from washed and non-washed extracts, with and without activators were analyzed for: aluminium, arsenic, copper, cadmium, chromium, nickel, lead and zinc. Measured by ICP-MS with Nexión 300D of 0.45µm filtered simples and diluted at 1:100 and 1:200.
- "Seeds" tab: The species selected to check the effect of the different extracts was the radish (Raphanus sativus). This tab collects the preliminary germination and radicle length data obtained with radish seeds with the four treatments and control in petri dishes.
- "Seedlings" tab: Radish seeds were sown in 10x10 pots, with 10 replicates per treatment which was applied 50 ml once a week. The following were analyzed: Root length, Root fresh weight, Shoot fresh weight and Shoot dry weight.

2. Data processing methods
- SyngistixTM versión 2.5 (Perkin Elmer) for ICP-OES measurements.

- None

4. Environmental or experimental conditions:
